I’ve noticed that international firms always hire from the Big Four local firms” – If that is a sentiment you hold (and you also hail from a reputable local firm outside of the Big Four), then looking at the November 2019 moves may bring you some encouragement! Ultimately, it is important that a recruiter is familiar with the hiring history/flexibility of the employer so that you can receive accurate advice on whether you stand a realistic chance of getting the interview/role. After all, nobody enjoys being faced with a deafening silence after submitting an application.

We previously also explained (in our article on the May 2019 moves) that vacancies in niche practice areas are often more open to meeting non-Big Four candidates. In May, two such examples were Employment and Ship/Maritime Finance, and for November 2019 this probably applies as well to the Maritime Disputes and Financial Services Regulatory roles.

If you wish to understand what are the realistic options for you given your current firm and practice area, feel free to drop us a note at hello@lexmatch.coOur team meticulously tracks moves in the market and we will be happy to share that research and knowledge with you.
